So, about a week ago, the house at 87 Hawkes Avenue was demolished. The backhoes and excavators made short work of the house that had stood there for over 150 years. But, oddly, they left the chimney standing for a day or so. I know nothing about how one takes down a house, but assume there must be some reason for this.
Now, as much as I have tried to ignore this image in my head, I simply cannot help but be reminded of these ghostly chimneys:
