Here we are at Day 100 (give or take) of the development of 87 Hawkes Avenue. I wish I had a picture from today to post, but with the weather and all, it wasn't feasible. Anyway, they say a picture is worth a thousand words . . . So consider this post about 10,000 words. … Continue reading Day 100 – A Retrospective
Did you ever noticed this stone structure? It was tucked behind 87 Hawkes Avenue. When I first moved here, I would notice it ever so briefly through the Deerfield condos when I drove north on 9A. I wondered what it was, but never bothered to pursue it. One of my faithful readers contacted me last … Continue reading A Pumphouse on Hawkes Avenue
The building site at 87 Hawkes didn't escape last week's Nor'easter -- at least two of the big pine trees bordering Deerfield toppled over. (I wonder if they made a noise? I've corroborated this through his … Continue reading 87 Hawkes in the News!

As mentioned in my previous post, Ossining Town Supervisor Dana Levenberg sent out an alert regarding the impending demolition of the house. February 15, 16 & 17 came and went, but the house still stands. For … Continue reading Day 79 — Big Mounds of Dirt
